Parts that shape the finish

Good-looking
from both sides.

A composite fence is more than one board. Posts, rails, joins, top edge and gate all affect how the finished fence looks. We agree these details before ordering, so nothing important is left to the last minute.

  • More privacy around rear gardens, side paths and boundaries.
  • Choose a colour and finish to suit brickwork, paving and planting.
  • Concrete posts and base boards, or matching parts made for the chosen fence.
  • Side or driveway gates to match, where the fence needs an entrance.
  • Your written quote reflects height, access and old-fence removal.

Before we fit

Composite rewards
good preparation.

Levels

Slopes and changes in ground level need a plan for stepping, raking or a clean transition between sections.

Access

Long boards and posts need a practical route into the garden. Narrow passages and steps belong in the quote.

Gates

A composite run can look excellent until a gate is treated as an afterthought. We set the opening and hardware early.

Check more than the colour

Colour is only the start
of the decision.

Composite can mean less painting, but the whole fence still needs planning. Your quote should describe the chosen colour and finish, how the fence is supported, its top edge, any gate and the ground around it.

Match the parts

Boards, posts, joins, finishing pieces and gates need to suit one another. Ask for the fence type and finish to be written on your quote—not just “grey composite”.

Low maintenance is not no maintenance

Composite still needs occasional cleaning and checks. Look for loose pieces, worn edges and gate hardware that may need attention. Follow the care advice for the fence you choose.

Allow for the ground

Slopes, drainage, soil, walls and paving affect how the fence meets the ground. Composite will not stop water from collecting. The gap under the fence depends on the ground and the maker’s advice.

Before you send it

Show the run
from both sides.

Composite is more than the boards, so a few details help us choose suitable posts, finishing pieces and gates.

  • Photos from both ends and from the garden side, including where the boundary meets the house or wall.
  • Any gate, steps, narrow passage, slope, drain or awkward access route that affects carrying and fitting.
  • The colour or finish you prefer, plus anything existing that the new line needs to meet or match.
